School of IC T-Shirt Design Contest: Design Our Shirt For a Chance at $200!

At the School of Interactive Computing, we feel like we have it all.

Research? If you search far and wide, you’d be hard-pressed to find a school quite as diverse as ours. Faculty? Ours are international thought leaders who perpetually move the needle forward in their respective fields. Students? Our bright minds regularly accept appointments in industry and at high-profile academic institutions.

But, you know what we’re missing? A T-shirt. And that’s where you come in.

We are producing a new shirt for the IC community, and we’re asking YOU to design it. Dust off those graphics skills and put together a concept of a design for what “interactive computing” means to you.

It could be anything! And don’t worry about whether your design is perfect. You can send us an initial concept for the contest, and we’ll worry about the little details later.

Did we mention the best part? If your design wins, we’ll give you a $200 Amazon gift card for your troubles. Pretty sweet, right?

So, who can participate?

That’s the cool thing. Because we’re such an interactive and collaborative family, we consider so many both within and outside of the school to be a part of our community. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, associated centers and research institutes, friends of the school – you name it. If you’ve ever participated within our community, we encourage you to submit!

And submitting is simple. Just save your design/concept in JPEG format and email to our school communications officer, David Mitchell, at david.mitchell@cc.gatech.edu. In the email, be sure to include your name and association with the school (current or former faculty or staff, student or alumni, friend of the school, etc.) so that we can give you proper credit.

When submissions are closed, we will select a few finalists and put it up for a vote on our social media channels.

Ok, fine. There ARE some rules. Here are a few:

  1. You can’t use the name of our school, college, or institute. That means “School of Interactive Computing,” “College of Computing,” and “Georgia Tech,” and all varying forms thereof, are out. But using those words is a little on-the-nose anyway, isn’t it?
  2. As much as we all love Buzz (and would LOVE to see him as a robot), he’s out too, due to copyright guidelines. Sorry, everyone.
  3. By participating in this contest, you are agreeing to the disclaimer below.
  4. BE CREATIVE! Our school and our community mean something different to everybody, so don’t be afraid to go outside the box.

So, to summarize: Design our T-shirt, leave your mark on the school, and earn some cash, to boot. Not too bad.

Check out the timeline below and start designing! We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
