MagTrack is a wearable alternative controller designed for power wheelchair users with limited upper-body mobility to regain better autonomy of their physical and digital life. MagTrack translates facial gestures and head motion into complex controls by tracking the movement of tiny tracers placed in any spot above the neck where the user still has remaining motion (head, cheek, eyebrows, chin, etc.). An embedded controller in our smart eyewear records and transmits these tracer motion data to an external control manager that outputs commands specific to a target device. Thus, MagTrack offers a fully integrated, all-in-one experience so that a user can seamlessly switch between driving their wheelchair to controlling connected devices in their surroundings such as their smartphone.
